For all involved, football coaching should be fun and exciting. Following some basic guidelines will make football coaching more efficient.   • Coaches should impose punctuality among players. Players should turn up before the training session starts. If the training session starts at 7 pm the players should be ready to play at 7 pm. This simply means that the players should be punctual at all times as there is no waiting for people who turn up late.
  • Football players should inform their coach if they are going to be late or cannot make it to the training session. Informing the coach is not only good manners; it will also make it easier for the coach to organize the rest of the training session.
  • Football coaches and players must ensure that all necessary equipments are available and ready in advance.
  • The coach must warm up the football team with some gentle jogging and some stretching exercises after that. Warm up exercises will help stretch the muscles and reduce the risk of injury. And to help lessen the possibility of aches and pains, gentle jogging and more stretching should be done at the end of the session.
  • To build up leg strength and endurance, a considerable amount of time should be devoted for running and doing other exercise. Take note that there is little hope for a football player who cannot last 90 minutes.
  • To install the best ways of doing things in the field and enable the player to know what to do next, doing some soccer drills will be helpful. Always bear in mind that practice makes perfect.
  • Players should put the skills they have learned and endurance to test with some games like defenders against attacker or 5 a side.
  • Players should practice various formation and game plans prior to the game as there is more chance they will work. Players should be trained how to counteract a good striker or a speedy winger in the other team. Coach should determine where the goals are going if your star striker is injured and can’t play.
  • Players and coaches should not ignore the importance of diet, rest and training. A lot of players are eager to train more that sometimes they do not get enough rest that they need and others would not eat healthily. Coaches should ensure that players are aware of what is expected of them.
  • And the most important thing is to enjoy it! No matter how hard and seemingly pointless it is, coaches and players should enjoy every training session and make the most out of it. Remember, football should be fun and productive.
